2027 Certificate IV Outdoor Leadership Traineeship

Outdoor School is excited to announce its’ annual traineeship positions. There are four positions available – two at the 15 Mile Creek campus and two at the Bogong campus. We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking people who have an interest in Outdoor Education as a career to apply for the 12 month fulltime position. The position requires studying for a Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership as well as working fulltime at one of our campuses.
Outdoor School is a Respectful Relationships school, has a working Reconciliation Action Plan, is a Department of Education Safe School and is a member of the Outdoor Residential Schools Network (ORSN).
Outdoor School provides students from schools around Victoria with outdoor learning experiences in a range of environments using activities like bushwalking, canoeing, rock climbing, rafting and bike riding. The 15 Mile Creek campus is situated in North East Victoria at Greta South and runs a range of programs including primary, secondary and some special school programs. Bogong Campus is located at Bogong Village near Mt Beauty and runs mostly secondary programs with a winter focus involving skiing during third term. Both campus positions require some overnight work in a variety of locations. Applicants should enjoy working with and challenging young people, be prepared to work outdoors and in remote locations and be willing to contribute to professional and dedicated teaching teams.
The Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership is a 12 month course (done intensively) and students will gain knowledge in all aspects of the activities offered. Students will be required to attend training at the a Registered Training Organisation and various venues around the state. Some of these practical trips are during school holidays and some are during term time.

- Current resume highlighting experience relevant to the Certificate IV Outdoor Leadership position.
- List of 3 referees with their contact details. At least one of these referees should refer to a personal context and one a professional context.
- A succinct one page document outlining what it is that you hope to achieve whilst at Outdoor School and how you intend to use your experiences into the future.
- Campus preference, if you have any.
