Outdoor and Environmental Studies

OES is concerned with the ways humans interact with and relate to outdoor environments. The alpine environment covers places that have minimum influence from humans, as well as locations that have been subject to different levels of human intervention. Outdoor School Bogong, enables students to make critically informed comment on questions of environmental sustainability and to understand the importance of environmental health, particularly in alpine environments. Students will develop experiential knowledge of the alpine environment from perspectives of environmental history and ecology and also examine the complex interplay between alpine environments and humans.

Schools have the option of participating in either a winter or summer VCE program at Outdoor School Bogong. Outdoor School Bogong Program Manager will discuss the logistics with you to organise a suitable program and Outdoor School Bogong teachers will discuss with you specific curriculum outcomes before your program commences.
